4noggins Catamount
(3.33)
Ripe Virginia tobaccos, Black Cavendish and toasted Cavendish are combined to create a complex, mild smoking experience. The aroma is an elegant vanilla with a hint of cherry. Toasting the Cavendish locks in the natural sweet tobacco flavor and eliminates any tongue bite. A great mild aromatic as well as a wife pleaser.

I am on an aromatic kick. The love affair with Lady Latakia seems to be coming to an end. Rather sad that. But it is what it is.
I love cherries and was very much looking forward to giving Catamount a trial. I smoked 5 bowls in 4 pipes. My general conclusion is that Catamount was found wanting.
The best experience was in my Medico Jetstream with a White Elephant charcoal filter. The smoke was smooth and soft and very tasty, with a mild cherry taste throughout the smoke.
The worst was in my Peterson Killarney 406 Prince. The smoke was rather hot and harsh. The Virginia wanted to scorch my mouth. And there was very little cherry taste.
In the middle was my experience using a GBD Century 9489 Pot with Denicool Crystals. The smoke was smoother than in the Peterson and there was a very, very mild cherry taste throughout the smoke.
The remainder of the 2 ounces I'll be smoking in a large bowl pipe with Denicool Crystals, or my Medico and White Elephant charcoal crystals.
I won't be buying this again. That said, I can sort of recommend the blend as it does taste quite good under the right conditions.
