The old-fashioned burley taste comes through in full form, nutty and brisk, hitting on tangy notes along the way as the Virginia components catch on. There's just enough Latakia to provide no more than perhaps a seasoning effect.

Not bad. Nice retrohale with a bit of vanilla to it. Its a solid OTC type Burley smoke that is very managable in the pipe. It has a great nutty tobacco taste, a bit of nicotine, a bit if smokiness and sweetness and won't bite (unless you puff like a madman). Great morning smoke

Good stuff: lightly aromatic with a natural underlying Burley taste. Goes well with morning coffee; a seamless transition one to the other. I think the proportion of ingredients is just about right, and I wouldn’t change a thing.
I know 90% of you would blow through this fairly quickly (and that’s what I recommend) but since I like to see how blends ‘develop’ I sampled my supply over 18 months. My first impressions were the most positive, and I would give 3.5 stars based on that. This is what I got: Takes off with first light and burns smooth and steady. A sweetness based on brown sugar and creamy vanilla (molasses is a different flavor profile with a distinct tangy nuance), natural nuttiness, and every once in a while I get a hint of sourdough bread, which is something I normally associate with Turkish tobaccos, but can also happen with minimally cased bright Virginias. The overall character of the blend fills the same niche for me (as a morning smoke with coffee) as Country Squire’s Cowboy Coffee. In a direct A-B comparison (a real tough assignment, lol) BHT was a little more ‘cushioned’ and forgiving if I was in a grumpy mood. If I was feeling bright and chipper, Cowboy satisfied more, with a more focused flavor profile. Keep in mind if you want a full-blown aromatic with your morning coffee then something like CS Choctaw is absolutely luxuriant.
After about a year in jar some of the flavor begins to fade. Now, at 18 months, in preparation for this review I’ve sampled the last couple bowls and must sadly report that the primary appeal of the blend has dropped down to about a 2.5 star level of enthusiasm. At this point I can agree with reviewer StevieB who gave it two stars saying that because of the lightness and sweet finish, a single bowl tends to be enough, or you will soon tire of it. That is definitely true now, but when it was fresh I think it is better than two stars.
For me it’s all about how this compares to other blends of its type, and which I ultimately want to spend time with. I’m going to give three stars but urge that you don’t sit on this. Enjoy it fresh, and resupply as needed. Meanwhile, I have had no problem with Choctaw or Cowboy fading, so I tend to be partial to those two.

Light flavoring/casing lends a pleasant smell in the bag. Light and fluffy, as all of the 4noggins blends seem to be. Rather moist. Best one of the 4noggins blends I have tried so far, but still lacking in overall taste. Will not rebuy.--2 more to go.

just smoked my second bowl of this and i'm delighted. in some ways it reminds me quite a bit of mcclellands frog morton series, which i'm a big fan of. has that same sweet/tangy incense thing going on. my next order will be a 16oz. great no nonsens baccy for a very good price.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the reviews except a really nice tobacco- I agree. Subtle flavours that develop through the bowl. I can see smoking this anytime of day.

The combination of Burley, Virginia and Latakia is very nice done in this one. The burley used is real quality stuff, as always in Rich's blends.
