MozzMann is back! This is my first review in many months! I have requested my #1 all time favorite tobacco to be listed also, so stay tuned for further details on that. Now for my review...Sunset Rum is my second all time favorite smoke. This is a great tobacco that I have been smoking for a few years. This is a great tasting blend with a sweet taste of rum and vanilla. This really burns well and the roomnote is one of the best to be had by such a tobacco. This tobacco I have a habit of smoking 1-2 bowls in succession because it is so enjoyable. After many months I am downsizing my tobacco archives and just sticking with the top 3-4 in my collection. This is without a doubt one of the best aromatic tobaccos on the market!...MozzMann...

Smoking now:
Bag smells like vanilla, raisins, and rum. It’s pretty well cased and wet in the bag. Not Molto Dolce wet but does coat your fingers and stain the bag. I let dry for 15 min and smoked it wet.
It did light and stay lite pretty well like other Milan blends I’ve had that were not so wet.
The taste is rum. I get a fairly strong toasted sugar, and a slight fruit and alcohol note. Other than that you’ll get a slight Virginia and cavendish flavors. Lots of rum but not obnoxiously sweet which I liked. Retrohale is pleasant, no mouth tingle, and smoked at a slow pace it did not bite my tongue. Being so wet I was worried about tongue bite so I kept it slow. Coworker said the room note smelled very good. Hardly an aftertaste, pretty mild aromatic.
A fairly well behaved aromatic with big rum flavor. Would happily smoke with again when I need or want an aromatic. It’s a damn fine aromatic blend with good flavor.

After trying several brands of rum based tobacco, I found this one and thought I would give it a try. The rich rum note is very relaxing and the cavendish adds some sweetness. The room note is great. A good every day smoke.

This is a delicious, sweet blend! Tastes and smells like Italian rum cream cake! Can burn a tad hot if you go too fast, however when nursed it is very nice and stays on cool side. This is probably the best bulk aero I ever smoked. If you like aromatics you'll love this blend!

This tobacco has salvaged my faith in flavored tobaccos. I had grown cynical. I have a sweet tooth, so when I see people on this site rave about an aromatic, I take note…but most of those 4 star aros that get rave reviews from even respectable reviewers, nevertheless strike me as chemical messes that leave a scary funk in my mouth. I thought I had given up on flavored tobaccos. But Sunset Rum…oh my. This is something else entirely. It's mainly quality VA, aged in rum, but it smells and tastes just like the most brilliant, natural butterscotch. That's what it is: smokeable butterscorch. There is never a hint of anything artificial in the smell or taste—just quality VA and real, natural rum…that's it—but it comes together to create pure butterscotch. From the smell in the pouch to the first light to the bottom of the bowl…every step of the way…natural butterscotch. And the entire time, I was terrified that this wonderful journey would turn south…but it never did. Not once, from beginning to end, did it turn artificial or funky or get hot or anything. It burned well, it burned cool, it burned sweet, it burned natural. And it's butterscotch. If you've got a bit of a sweet tooth but you don't like aromatics, this is your dessert tobacco.

I love this blend. The tobacco has a wonderful presentation with the virginia and burleys. The black cavendish is present, but not overwhelming. The smell of the package is ood too. I allowed about ten minutes of dry time and found that the tobacco lit real nice. A nice rum flavor is immediate and lasts the whole bowl. No bite makes this a nice intro smoke. I find that this blend is very enjoyable almost anytime. I highly recommend it!

Sunset Rum
This is a very, very good Aromatic. As I’ve said in the past there are reviewers who consistently downplay Aromatics. I find this pattern disingenuous — if one doesn’t like Aromatics in general, don’t review them. Or review the product on its merit without personal opinions.
As an example, I thought Sillem’s Linea Epoque Antique was a 4 star Aromatic blend but I didn’t care for the taste profile. Similarly, Cult Blood Red Moon is an extraordinary accomplishment — it smells and tastes like a cherry chocolate cordial, but I find it cloyingly sweet. One can review the blend on merits and still not like it.
But Sunset Rum from Milan is one of the few aromatics I really love. Their Even Stroll is another. And then Ken Byron’s Burley Morning Pipe. And a few others.

After a brief adventure into the realm of English tobaccos, I decided to go back to where I started, to aromatics. After carefully weighing my options, I decided to shop where I knew I would receive great service, and that was at Milan.
I had tried Sutliff Spicy Rum in the past and was not impressed, but I did like the pouch note, so I decided to go with another rum flavored blend, Sunset Rum. The pouch note was exquisite and the tobacco lit easily. After the char light, the tobacco required only 2 more relights. The taste was a smooth rum flavor with no bite, although it did burn a bit warm at times. The room note was delightful and not overwhelming. It burned completely down to a grey ash with no remnants left in the bowl.
If you like rum flavored aromatics then by all means try some. You will not be disappointed with the tobacco or the service.

Highly Recommend for Aromatic fans esp those who enjoy rum flavor. Reminds me of a hot buttered rum with notes of vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon or nutmeg. I would give this 3.5 STARs. Lesser known blend that I stumbled on and was happy to have found. Tin note is sweet with hints of rum, vanilla, and a little spiciness which to me hints at cinnamon or nutmeg. A bit moist when received and could use a small amount of dry time before smoking. Lit and burned well otherwise and burned down to nice white ash. Very little to no nic hit detected. Mild blend which could be an all day smoke or just relaxing summer evening smoke with light sweet and pleasing aftertaste . Overall a nice mild sweet aro that has extremely pleasant rum/vanilla room note which matches closely to the tin note and flavor when smoked.
