Boswell Pipes & Tobacco Christmas Cookie
(3.27)
An aromatic that you can smoke year round with a very pleasant vanilla cookie flavor. This will definitely please everyone in the room as well as the serious smoker. You do not need to like aromatics to enjoy this blend. A heady smoke all day long.

Quite tasty, I don't know about the "Christmas cookie" thing, but its a pretty tasty blend. The room note is what would be expected from an aromatic, and their is no tongue bite. All in all, not bad at all, but im a bigger fan of Boswell's "Cupcake." Heck now that I think about it, maybe I do taste a little cookie 🙂

I'm not a huge fan of vanilla flavored aromatics. However, something about Boswell's Christmas Cookie has gained my attention. Purchased in a new 2 oz tin from their Chambersburg PA store, I decided to try one of their tinned tobaccos instead of buying in bulk (as I had tried their Autumn Sampler a few years ago to some disappointment). This tobacco is everything an aromatic smoker could want in a blend. The tobacco fills a bowl nicely, has an inviting vanilla room note (that smells like cake batter), and I find that it burns very well with few relights needed at all. This tobacco has given me hope that I might find more enjoyment in many of Boswell's blends in the near future. Get this in the 2 oz tin as you won't be disappointed.

Sounds yummy 😋 but again it's just too mild to truly enjoy. Lights fine and burns fairly cool if you sip and don't puff like crazy. The flavor just comes and goes and is not anything but very mild. Room note is nice but like the taste is pretty mild. Another good mild aromatic from Boswell.

This is another fine Boswell blend. Not quite one of my favorites of theirs but it's a darn good smoke nonetheless. The tobacco has a nice note, burns nice and is pleasant in of itself. I just don't find it quite as interesting or having some of the nuances I am looking for. I can't say I am disappointed because it is better than so many others. I just find it a little lower on the totem poll as far as some of the other Boswell blends I have enthusiastically enjoyed.

If you want to smoke a Christmas cookie, this is the Go To aromatic for the wintery months. If this sounds like a disgusting time to you, then stop reading this review - this tobacco isn't for you.
HOWEVER, if you are not adverse to aromatics (I'm not - I smoke everything from 1-Q to old 965), then Christmas Cookie from Boswell's is actually pretty darn tasty. The best way to describe it is a batch of sugar cookies just came out of the oven and is cooling on the table. That's how this tastes.
I give is 3 stars because it can really bite you, and it will get wet since it's very cased so it won't ever dry out enough to your liking. Also, I can't smoke this when it's not cold out - it's too strong and the bite only gets worse with the temperature.

All of the Boswell blends are excellent products. There is not a dud in the bunch. That being said, I have found I like some more than others. Surprisingly my taste seems to go against the tide on this one. This blend is easily one of the flagship blends for Boswells, along with berry cobbler and northwoods. Surprisingly, this is not one of my favorites from Boswells. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy it, just not a favorite.
This blend has to have one of the best tin and room notes on the market. They use the term "heady" in the description of this tobacco and that pretty much sums it up. It smells delicious.
The flavor is very subdued. I would have liked a little more assertiveness in the vanilla department. As with all Boswell blends even the most aggressive puffer will find it hard to make this blend bite.
A good blend for sure. Recommended.

I received a sample of this for Christmas from a friend. He ages his tobaccos. I found it a very relaxing and pleasant smoke with a nice flavour that had me coming back for more. I would recommend this.

This tobacco it has a great sugary smell that fits it's name perfectly. It's a good aromatic that smokes cool and flavourful. As with most Boswell blends I've tried, the room note is amazing. This one is great while going for a leisurely stroll in the cooler weather of fall or a mild winter day.

This is a pretty good, mild, aromatic. The smell in the bag is that of caramel, vanilla, and some sort of liquor. The taste is a light tobacco flavor combined with vanilla or butterscotch. It is pretty good on occasion, but too sweet to be smoked all day. I primarily smoke english blends and aromatics, however i am more fond of european style rather than American style aros. This could be the very definition of an American aromatic. Ribbon cut, heavily cased, but still a bit of tobacco flavor present.
overall, recommended to anyone who enjoys the style.

A real winner from Boswell. Fantastic room note and enjoyable albeit mild tobacco flavors - the flavor and aroma remind me of marshmallows toasted over a campfire. Gentle on the tongue and goes wonderfully with a big mug of coffee.
Update 8/11/2011: I still enjoy this tobacco and it is the only one that Mrs. Wellpipe actually LIKES the smell of, but the flavor experience for the person driving the pipe is somewhat limited compared to more epic blends, including Boswell's Northwoods. Adjusting my rating to 'Recommended'.
