I had a tin of C&D Dasher and it was tasty. Since it was a one time run, I asked around and received the suggestion to try Berry Good as it was basically the same, just a ribbon cut. And it is (I bought bulk), though, regrettably, just like Dasher, I don’t get much raspberry or vanilla at all. What I do taste is this roasted, sort of cocoa type flavor which I’ve come to discover is how I interpret quality burley. It’s easy to pack, burns to ash, and doesn’t bite at all. It is stronger than Dasher. I’m attributing this to the difference in cuts, crumble cake vs ribbon? Not sure. Nice blend, I’ll buy it again for sure.

I had been interested in this blend for a while and just have never tried it before. I have been interested in a tobacco blend that won't make my family run and hide when I smoke, but one that I enjoy smoking, as well. I've enjoyed university Flake and a few other topped tobaccos, but was looking for something a little new, so I bought Berry Good. I've tried aromatics, but I just don't enjoy them at all. I neither like the flavor not the weird feeling of a film-like covering in my mouth after smoking them. I shouldn't complain, but I will... There's nothing wrong with this tobacco, but not much right about it, either. The taste is not as full as I would like and the topping is barely noticeable. I even bought it in the tin, so that I could make sure that there would be much less loss of topping. This is definitely good tobacco, but it's not my cup o' tea. For the reason that I respect C&D's quality, I will give it three stars. If not for that, it would get two...

English? Or Aromatic? I think this is one of Cornel & Diehl's best achievements. There isn't anything I can say about this blend that has not been said here already. I prefer aromatics but this particular blend to me has a touch of the English tobacco style flavor and in this case thats fine with me. Its simply a wonderful smoke. Not too strong and not too mild. Its balance at its finest.

A Jekyll and Hyde sort of blend. It IS a "for the right mood" blend.

I ordered 4 oz based upon the reviews on this site here is my take:

The bad first, Seemed very strong for an aromatic even a bit bitter. Not entirely unpleasant but I had expected something milder and "sweeter". More tongue bite than most blends I have experienced. For the first month of occasional use (about once a week) I was still disappointed overall. That is until...

The good, and it is really good. On a hot sunny late afternoon on the deck, relaxed and serene. Get a bottle of nice chilled white wine, smoke slowly and it becomes heavenly.

Berry Good! is not a bad blend and not a great blend. Normally I smoke English blends but this is good for a break from time to time. The topping is light but is detectable throughout the bowl. But it adds something to the room note that the wife finds acceptable. Good for a house smoke, just enough vitamin N to get the job done. I like to keep a couple of ounces on hand.

This is an unremarkable blend that would be ok if it were not intended to be a premium blend at a premium price. The quality of leaf is good but there are common OTC blends that are almost as good. Maybe I got a bad batch but there was no detectable casing in either the tin or the smoke. I don't like candied aromatics but there should be at least a hint of topping if it is labeled as an aromatic.

My wife has been a bit put out with me and my smelly pipes lately and the reviews here claimed this stuff has a great aroma so I bought a tin hoping to get back into her good graces. The room note wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special. This stuff is ok but it just isn't worthwhile.

I'm not a huge fan of aromatics or burley blends but, every once and a while it hits the spot.

I like this tobacco because it is not heavily cased and yet provide the smoker with a smooth smoke with little to no bite has nice subtle cherry undertones.

The tobacco in the tin is not too mosit and not goopy at all. It smells good too.

Another from the C&D sampler. Although I am not a fan of aromatics, this is a good smoke if one fancies aromatics. Nice burley makes it a cool and dry smoke. Not as gooey as I would have thought. Don't know if I will go out and buy another tin but as I said, if someone likes aromatics and a sweet smoke that is not overly sweet, this is recommended. Aroma from the can is beautiful. Big chunky ribbon cut of black and brown tobacco that burns well and leaves a nice clean white ash.
