A blend of Burley, Golden VA, and Cavendish. Has a touch of Latakia to make a fuller-bodied smoke. VERY MILD!

Bag note sweetness some Latakia the burley give it some earthy notes. Moisture level is a bit moist. Very lite smoke with plenty of sweetness provided by Cavendish and VA. Just a touch of Latakia for smokiness, with the burley to give it some chocolate/ coco notes very lightly . I think it might have a slight molasses topping as its almost an aromatic in sweetness . When I first tried this fresh from the bag it was too moist and the flavors were lost in the steam. I put it up on a shelf for 6 months and came back to it to try it again. Perfect after the rest. Nice light sweet smoke with just a bit of Latakia. If you are looking for a sweet lite non-aromatic blend with just a bit of Latakia this is it. Nic hit is very light no bite at all. This is a very consistent smoke from start to finish. Could be an all day smoke. This would be a great starter blend for those new to English blends. 3.5 stars

Smoking now. The bag note smells of a lovely mild Latakia/English blend. Packs and lights effortlessly.

I’ll say right off the bat this is a Va/Bur/Cav blend with a pinch of Latakia. So not a proper English blend. If you are looking for an English blend you’ll be disappointed. It’s rather an “old fashioned” blend with Latakia in it.

Immediately on lighting this I detect some sort of casing or topping. Maybe the Cavindish has been sweetened. It’s not flavored, nor does it cross into the aromatic crossover territory, but there’s a sweet and welcoming feel to the blend. I smoked it blind and I’m not surprised that this is an old fashioned Burley, Virginia, Cavindish blend with some Latakia in it. That’s what I got from it. The Latakia is very mild but enough so that you know it’s there. The burley is what I get the most. Large and I mean large volumes of smoke from this one. The sweetness subsides very little halfway though the bowl. Rather consistent. Absolutely no harshness, mouth tingle, or tongue bite, and the retrohale is easy with some sweetness and musty Latakia.

It’s more burley flavored than Northwoods and not as sweet either. Closer to country side I would say. If you’re looking for a mild and slightly sweet but not aromatic Latakia blend then here you go.

It’s mild on the Latakia, plenty on the sweet Cavindish, a good mixture of sweet and savory burley and Virginia. An old fashioned type of blend. Very well done.

This is a nice mild blend. It is like Northwoods light. I’ll spare the arguments on type of blend and stick to why it’s good.

I think this blend would be a great starter blend for a new pipe smoker. It’s got a nice sweetness to it, but it also has enough hints to a good Latakia blend that it’s going to provide a glimpse into what the smoker prefers. Sweet or smoky/floral/herby. I don’t find any woodsy or nutty characteristic to this blend.

I’m trying to determine if I want to buy more of this blend and use as an early morning smoke. I really like burley blends in the morning as a wake up for the taste buds, but in gravitating toward blends including Latakia, this might be a good one for the a.m. rotation.

I have a few new pipe smokers coming over in the next couple weeks - so, I’m trying to figure out whether I want to start them on the aro side or the non aros. The mild English could be where they wind up because it’s an enjoyable blend. It’s not as strong as I like, but it is a good appetizer.
