I recommend you use a small bowl. There's a light spice, some floralness, earth, herbs, vegetation, wood and dryness, and a little sweet and sour mix, and can tingle your tongue just a little, as it's meant to do. Actually, I find it better as a mixer than smoking it straight, though a cigarette smoker may disagree with me. The strength is a couple of steps past the center of mild to medium. The taste is a slot past that mark. The nic-hit is a rung below the strength level. Won't bite, but sports some rough, sharp edges. Burns clean at a reasonable pace with a very consistent flavor. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires few relights. Has a pleasantly lingering Turkish after taste, and stronger room note. Two and a half stars on its own, three as a mixture ingredient.

I am reviewing several C+D blending tobaccos as a precursor to some blending experiments. I know not many people blend, but these reviews may provide some hints to those wanting to do so.

The mid range Turkish blend which provides that "sweet and sour" and woodsy note to balkan blends. Probably not what most would smoke on their own but a unique experience. Good burning qualities and a nicely spiced.

I like the smokey, spiciness of this blend and like smoking it on it’s own as well as mixing it with some C & D Virginia flake that this works quite well with. I even add a pinch of straight Perique that I keep around for balance…..This burns cool and clean and doesn’t leave moisture in the bowl. It has a full bodied flavor and a mellow nic-hit. I get it in bulk at City Tobacco which keeps the price down as the Turkish and Oriental tobacco can get pricey…..I have around 40 tobaccos jarred in my cabinet and have been trying to pare down the amount of stuff I keep on hand to about 10 which isn’t an easy prospect and this Turkish might make the cut simply because it’s different and unassuming and does work well with my C &D Virginia flake which definitely makes the cut.

I am told that this tobacco is the same as I reviewed under Mars Cigars & Pipes "Turkish Ribbon Cut." You will find my thoughts there.
