Sutliff Tobacco Co. - Dutch Masters Cherry Cavendish.
One of the worst aromatics to have soiled my pipe!
It's a coarse ribbon, with a little more brown leaf than black. The moisture's good and the aroma's strong: cherry liqueur.
Right from the start cherry liqueur rules things. But, rather than a sweet cherry flavour, it gives a bitter, sharp, sour, alcoholic one. Quite disgusting. The tobaccos have more of a VaBur flavour, than a heavy, black Cav', aromatic one. It burns well, needing hardly any maintenance. I don't find it bites unless puffed too hard.
Nicotine: mild to medium. Room-note: nice.
Dutch Masters Cherry Cavendish? Smoked a few bowls, chucked it in the bin. Atrocious. Not recommended:
One star.

A typical aromatic. It smells nice in the pouch and isn't too wet if you leave the pouch open for a day or so. The aroma of the flavoring at first light is a little on the chemical/nasty side, but quickly subsides into a more subdued verson of some chemist's vision of what cherry should smell like. The middle 3rd of the bowl is the sweet spot where you can taste some of the virginia tobacco. It is a very mild taste which can easily lead to over-puffing to obtain more flavor. The bottom of the bowl is a soggy, rank mess. There are much better cherry tobaccos out there, for instance PS Cherry, Edward's Toasted Cherry, and Amphora Full Aroma.
