Ashton Consummate Gentleman
(3.05)
A proper English mixture composed of only the finest Virginia, Maryland and burley tobaccos with a pinch of latakia. The result is a remarkable blend that is medium bodied and traditionally English in character.

A thoroughly evil blend from Ashton's.
I was thoroughly spoiled with their aromatics. None of the subetlties of Rainy Day or winding Road are present here. This is a leathery punch in the gob, no messing about.
It seems a very respected blend in here, but it's quite clearly not my cup of tea. Reminiscent of Squadron Leader (which also disliked).
I was very surprised Mrs RW even sanctioned the smoking of this in the house as the this room note hangs around the room like a musty dank fog.
It's obvious therefore, that I am an aromatics smoker and this blend is not for me.

I'm surprised this one has had some good reviews. My experience is that it has hardly any flavor, smokes very fast and hot, and bites. I smoked a couple of pipefuls then threw the tin away. Poor quality, bland, hot smoke. Not recommended.

As some of the other reviewers have stated, this blend just has nothing that jumps out at you. It's rather bland in my opinion. With so many great blends out there, I would skip this one.

My local tobacco shop was out of Dunhill EMP so I decided to try this as a replacement. So far I am not impressed. I would describe it as an overpriced high quality blend that lacks any kind of flavor. Can I pretend I didn't open this and get my money back?
