I'm a beginner pipe smoker. Smoked cigs for many years. I started with Lanes TK-6, a cherry blend but have decided to give an English blend a try so I ordered a pound of C&D mild English. At first it didn't seem so mild to me. It seemed to be pretty strong for a blend labeled mild. After smoking several bowls of it I think I'll be smoking a lot more English tobacco. Maybe I'll try some other English blends. I just hope other English blends aren't to bitey for me. C&D Mild English is a great tasting blend to me. I'm looking forward to experimenting with other English blends. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
8/2/17 Update on review I have tried quite a few other blends from C&D but I always come back to Mild English. It's the only thing I smoke now. I like the fact that it's mild and easy to smoke. It taste great too. It's mild enough that I can smoke it all day and never have to worry about a sore tongue. Not sure what it is about it, but I think it's the mixture of burley, Latikia, and cavandesh that does it for me and there seems to be enough neutral cavandesh in it to make it very mild and pleasant to smoke. I like it. Call me a light weight if you like but I enjoy smoking my pipe and like to be able to smoke it and enjoy it without tongue bite and without that feeling in the throats that often comes with the stronger blends. I love this stuff!
