This was a tobacco blend that was passed around four or five years ago at one of my pipe club meetings. It was a rather mild and unobtrusive smoke that was loaded with outstanding, well aged Virginia leaf and steam pressed Black Cavendish that added body and an additional flavoring that was very discreet and absolutely made the smoking experience terrific! It was not a particularly sweet taste, but not tangy either - just rock solid tobacco.
If you do enjoy just a smidgen of extra flavoring in your pipe tobacco, Dunhill's Golden Hours (if you can find it) might just be a good choice. It was fully rubbed out and the ribbon leaf was short and thick, which made it easy to pack and smoke. I am sure the tin we smoked was quite aged, and perhaps that is why it was such a mellow smoke.
