Surprisingly.... Absoultely delicious!

I believe a fair review of a blend means to compare it to others of its genre rather than compare it to something of an entirely different make up. A Clydesdale and a Thoroughbred are both horses, but there are a few differences in the breeds. LOL!

Mac Baren's Cube is a delightful change of pace for Virginia lovers. I am not sure Latakia hounds will appreciate this one but it is very similar to a medium strength straight Virginia with some very special and heavy aromatic touches.

Cube is a Burley/Virginia combination that contains black Cavendish that bears a sweetner. I loved the way this blend packed, stayed lit and smoked mostly dry to the very bottom of the bowl with little effort.

This is an aromatic that tastes like tobacco and will offer about the most enticing room note I've ever encountered.... Sweet, yet tobaccoey!

I would highly recommend Cube to anyone who enjoys tobacco taste with some added sweetness and a room note that will bring the ladies running. Ain't nothin' not to like about this offering.

Cube vs Cube Silver – After I recently finish off the last of my tobacco I emailed Mac Baren prior to re-stocking regarding…

For clarification concerning Cube the silver was introduced first, and therefore it was only named Cube. A few years later the Cube Bronze and Gold was introduced and Mac Baren had to rename the Cube to Cube Silver per Georg Jensen: Mac Baren Tobacco Company.

The Cube Silver is a mild, aromatic blend that is ideal as an everyday smoke. Its smooth, creamy flavor is cool and slow-burning. Utilizes Burley, Cavendish, Oriental, Turkish, and Virginia tobaccos. This is not the gooey sugary topped tobacco that some would have expected. Rather an essence of tropical flavors. Coconut, Vanilla, Black pepper, Berry in just the right amount, as it did not hide the flavor of the quality tobacco which serves as the foundation of this very interesting blend. The flavoring stays ´til the very end, not overwhelming the tobacco taste and leaves a very pleasant room note. This is where 'the cube' seems to break from the pack and has a great flavor to match the delicious room note. For an aromatic lover this could be an ideal all-day smoke.

ahhhhh cube , my smoke of choice. The first time i lit this up i felt it was rank because of the overwhelming sweet taste , it can be overpowering. My trick is to let it dry a little , humor the concept and you wont be disappointed. I find slow paced gentle puffing makes it even more pleasant and i think this pairs with bourbon to form a candy floss like taste that is extremely addictive. I feel it has no strength , which i enjoy if im honest , its a baccy for late at night watching a film after a huge dinner. The smell off this wont send anybody running for a fire extinguisher and my other half loves it. Its surprising actually how nice it is , but then again some folk dont like overly sweet things. I will remember this chirstmas very fondly , snow outside , warmth and peace inside. The smell brings it back and i miss it so much that i know i will smoke this for as long as i can.

This is one extraordinary cased/aromatic pipe tobacco!

I fully agree with Beer and Pipestud who have summarized what I think.

Cube is a combination of loose cut and beautiful, long dark flakes. The tin aroma is, without any doubt, the best I have ever smelled for a pipe tobacco. Rich, sweet fruit with something close to vanilla. It is just fantastic.

To top it, the taste of tobacco is definitively present in Cube, as where it is not in offerings such as Signature, Nutty Cut, etc. They make me feel as if I am smoking something flavored that is not tobacco. When I smoke Cube, I smoke tobacco with an exceptional tasting aroma.

Like Beer mentioned, Cube is probably better suited for the experienced pipe smoker who can pace himself and smoke Cube gently. He will then be fully rewarded by this georgeous, magnificent creation.

There is no chemical taste or aroma to this one. I have smoked Celtic Talisman and realize the huge differences between both. I only now realize how the casing in CT was chemical in taste.

I would recommend you let the tobacco dry before filling in your pipe.

If you are an experienced smoker seeking an exceptional aromatic, then Cube is for you.

I will rebuy Cube regularly. It will have its place in my regular rotation.

Mac Baren's Cube was recommended to me by my tobacconist, and I found it to be a very interesting blend. It would be truthful to say it is not my favourite blend but it is definetely in the top 5. I found if the pipe was packed right I had no trouble smoking it right to the end of the bowl. The taste is consistent and I was pleasantely surprised to find that the room aroma is outstanding. I normally smoke Falcon pipes, but have just purchased a new briar pipe to use soley with this excellent mixture, Well Done Mr Halberg.

Reading the reviews i was almost put off trying the 1oz in my sample pack. I just love this tabacco. Cube is easy to smoke, i don't get any bite and the tase is just what i was looking for.

My son tells me it reminds him of a new car smell, (not sure about that one).

Have just ordered more in the big posh tin.

Mac Baren's CUBE is arguably the best aromatic from this manufacturer. I smoke aromatics and non-aromatics, so I tend to smoke CUBE on a rotation, usually after diner with a nice espresso and a single malt whiskey. It burns nicely and tastes consistently. Room aroma is outstanding. The best thing about it is that it is not a heavy sugary sickly aromatic like many others, it rather draws aroma naturally, a little sweetness together with sour, just a little. Absolutely wonderful and highly recommended.

this is my number one fruity tobacco and it is a great piece of attraction. sweet and some times very sweet taste to it with an easy to pack cut and great burning quality. the room note is wonderful. although i adore this tobacco but even for me i cannot consider it as an all day smoke due to the sweetness it holds, however for aromatic/fruity tobacco i must recommend it.

Straight to the point, this is an excellent blend! Anyone that is turned off by the marketing of it should disregard that bad decision and give it a try because the tobacco is top notch. I myself reluctantly tried it after meeting a rep of the manufactuer at a pipe show, and I'm damn glad I did try it.

The tobacco has one of the most pleasant aromas that I've come across while at the same time having real flavor. It tasted much like the Virginia flake that I regularly smoke in my opinion. I like to rotate my smoke from Va. to English to an occasional aromatic. Now as far as aromatics go, like most people, I feel normally they just smell nice, but don't have any flavor. This is where 'the cube' seems to break from the pack and has a great flavor to match the delicious room note.

You'll have to have an open mind because as I said, this is one aromatic that actually delivers on flavor too, but give it a try. Besides, buy it in bulk (I found it at Knoxcigar) and it's much more affordable. I think it will suprise some others as it did me, but then again, that's why we keep trying new blends.
