Peterson Connoisseur's Choice
(3.06)
A satisfying, spicy and aromatic blend of black cavendish, golden and red Virginias, mixed with luxury broken flake. The aromatic recipe of tropical fruit, maple, vanilla & rum make this blend smooth and very pleasant.

This one is interesting. The fruit/liquor taste is in the tin-note but there is still tobacco underneath it.
I found it smokes better when dried out some. The fruit still stays on the top, but the tobaccos come through underneath. Has a good room note that will get compliments.
It requires smoking slowly.. or it can produce some tongue bite in my experience. It is really nice in the summer time with some fruity beverage or a margarita.

I picked up a tin of this stuff because I was Intrigued by the description. This aromatic, when smoked produces a mouthwatering aroma of maple and dark rum soaked fruit cake. The irregular cut makes it easy to pack and light. However take your time because it will get warm on you. The flavoures are very easy to pick out while smoking. This blend seems pretty standard until you get a spicy kick from that dark fired Kentucky.. this blend offers much depth to be explored, truly a gem at a reasonable cost!

Simply put: one of the best tin and room notes ever! Period. Reminded me of water pipe tobacco. The taste is nice too, with notes of tropical fruits and rum. Mild to medium strength. If you are a fan of aromatic blends, you will rejoice! Give it a try anyway.

A very nice smelling blend, hints of liqueurs- almost like a mix of sour cherry, peach, and rum. Upon opening the tin, the contents were relatively dry and ready to smoke. In terms of the smoke itself, the taste of the sweet virginias was there, as was the sour tang- something I don't enjoy much that's abundant in most if not all aromatic's I've smoked. Every now and again whilst smoking Peterson's Connoisseur's Choice, the flavours from the tin note definitely come out, resulting in a sweet aftertaste of fruits and rum. The biggest issue I have with this blend is the cut, the black cavendish has to be broken up a little by hand before packing in the bowl.
Overall I'm enjoying the blend more and more as I smoke it, I like it better than many of the Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. aromatic blends out there.

Nice Aro, smells fruity, tastes fruity. Tropical taste actually, i get pineapple, mango, banana also a nice tobacco flavor riding besides the fruit although has a tendency to bite so do take it easy on this blend and sip slowly if you want to experience the whole spectrum of flavors. Great summer smoke for me.

A very enjoyable fruity blend with a delicious room note. An easy go to tobacco that works well with a heavy drinking session. A favourite with my pipe club, new and seasoned pipe smokers enjoy. I always ensure I have a stash in the bar.

This aromatic is easy to light, easy to pack, and easy to smoke. It has a Burley-like aroma, infused with a flavour that I can only describe as oak (from the rum, perhaps?). There is a certain bitter taste to it, similar to coffee, which certainly complements the nuttiness and slight fruity note. Make sure, however, to not smoke this too fast or too hot, or else it will give you a tongue-burn. The room-note is almost reminiscent of dark chocolate with a hint of hazelnuts in it. All in all, a blend that will grow on me and that will be smoked during the cold seasons.

I am cigar smoker. This is my first tobacco for me. I got my 1st pipe -- corn cod pipe. Nice smelling, very spicy, furity, cherry, and sweety like candy. Very good experience for my first pipe. No feel any tough bite.

This was one of the first tins I purchased, almost one year ago. As many others, at the very beginning of my pipe-smoking journey I was intrigued by Aromatics and was scared by English Mixtures. During these months my tastes have quickly changed and now I'm more a Latakia-guy. That said, this tobacco is on the mild side, which for me is good. It has a wonderful tin aroma, which is very good. What about the smoke itself? As said by others, it requires a little more of effort to be lighted, then it tends to make the pipe hot if you draw too fast. The taste of the smoke doesn't really match the tin aroma. I'd recommend this tobacco to aromatic lovers, mainly. For an EM or Virginia lover, it can be a nice alternative.

I enjoyed this. It burned a bit hot at first, so left it dry out a bit. Good flavor without totally killing the tobacco flavor. A worthy aro to have, even if a tad expensive.
