Paul Olsen Balkan

(3.17)
In the early 1900's, an ancient family of tobacco blenders created the original "Balkan Smoking Mixtures", balancing the richness of the Oriental tobaccos from Macedonia and the Black Sea with the best latakia and Virginias. We revisit today that ancient recipe characterized by a high Syrian latakia dosage (50%).

I found it in Bilbao and bought 1 tin very reluctantly.

My friend «erinmore», however, told me that it is an amazing mixture which resembles the Balkan Sobranie. So on my trip in Vitoria I bought another 2 tins.

I opened the first and I wasn't only thrilled, but I immediately placed it on the top of my list of preferences regarding latakia- oriental tobaccos.

And believe me I didn't rush t any conclusions… Very uniform blend of oriental latakia and Virginia. Very sweet taste to the end, ideal moisture that needs no drying. It's so easygoing that you smoke a bowl right after you wake up in the morning, and before you sleep at night. Fine-cut (not too much) easily fills the bowl and lit very easily to give you immediately flavors, and they are many.

The scent in the room is not annoying, like some others.
