I liked the taste of this blend but not as much as Carter Hall or Sir Walter Raleigh. On top of that I found this blend difficult to keep lit and had a tendency to bite as others have said. There's better Burley blends out there.

Soli Deo gloria!

This is like a "Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde". When I got this,it was dry but I smoked untouched. The taste was like a "Cube cut burley a la Thailand's green chili sauce".It burned whole my mouth like hell. I sprinkled some brandy on and waited 2 days until the moisture permeated. Now,it's completely different from 2 days before. It became mild, sweet and a bit spicy ordinary tobacco. If you like that stuff, you may try.For me,it was not bad but not the best.

I didn't have trouble lighting this tobacco or keeping it lit. It isn't bad except it tends to bite.

P.S. Cube .. Nothing special to add, so I'll keep short. This blend provides a pleasant enought smoke, with some sweetness. But is a real pain to light and keep lit. Even with all that puffing to keep it lit, it still stays fairly well mannered, unlike many others. It may be worth a try.

Slow smoking, relatively full tasting burley with little casing. Can become a bit harsh and bitter. Unaffected by aging.

Pack loosely but be careful of spills.

PS41 Cube Cut is, as the name implies, a cube cut blend of Burleys and Virginias. From the bulk sample I received, the blend was a little on the moist side, and for me it required some drying time. Through the tin note, I can pickup the Burleys and Virginias separately. There is a honey/brown sugar topping that is apparent.

Upon lighting, the Burleys are up front and center. They are rich, with deep molasses, cocoa, earth, and spices, and are mildly sweet. The Virginias are right behind the Burleys and compete for attention. They are sweet, tangy, and bright with notes of fruit, citrus, grass, and a fruity note from time to time. The toppings are present in every puff. I taste honey and brown sugar. They play well with the tobaccos in the blend, and add an additional touch of sweetness as well. The toppings fade as the bowl progresses, but never completely drop off.

Cube Cut is difficult to light and goes out frequently, so be ready for some relights. I find matches work better with this blend then a regular lighter. It burns a little hot and sports a rough edge, so smoke slowly or you may experience tongue bite. It left a little moisture in the bowl, but not much. The flavor was medium and the strength was a little below that. Not quite an all day blend for me, as I don’t think my body chemistry would allow it. 2.25 out of 4 stars.

PS Cube Cut is a tobacco that left me feeling like something was missing. The predominant (and really only) flavor comes from the burley, with the Virginia and cavendish adding nothing really detectable to the experience. I like burley well enough but I felt as though this tobacco should have had a slightly more complex flavor.

The cube cut is novel and packs easily, but it is a pain to light for the first time and it requires a few relights during the smoke. I did not experience any issues with the lit cubes jumping/falling out of my pipe. YMMV, of course, but this is just not a tobacco I see myself revisiting.
