WOW! I would smoke this fairly regularly if somebody out there in import land would bring it into the USA. I received a couple of bowlfuls from OSR and many thanks to him for sharing this delightful weed with me.
I smoked back to back bowls with coffee this morning (10-31-04) and was in pipe smoker's heaven. I really believe I enjoy Shamrock more than Rattray's Old Gowrie which I find to be very similar. Shamrock has a bit more flavor, a bit more nicotine content and since I can't get it regularly, a bit more intrigue.
Dried and fully rubbed out, this tobacco packs very easily and burns cleanly. A slow puffing cadence really enhances the flavor, which I'll describe as mildly spicy and naturally sweet. I can only imagine what a 10 year old tin would be like. That is why I'm going to purchase a bunch of this stuff and stick it in the "cellar."

This classic from W.Ø. Larsen is VERY close to Flake Cut from the same company and Golden Slices from Orlik. It has the same "Earl Grey with lemon" kind of topping, but it is a wee bit more present in this blend. Nic-level are almost the same as goes with the burning qualities. If you like Golden Slices, you ought to try this "feminine" version of it. (unfortunately no picture with a beatiful female judge on the tin)
Nice, soft and sweet.
