You may have seen the advertising for this in many an older magazine, etc. This is for the original Fleming Hall production, which I believe sold it to American in the early-to-mid 1960s. I've no idea how old this box was, but it was the old-style cardboard box with the tobacco loose inside, and many (most?) other tobaccos had switched over to foil pouches before then. The Burley & Cavendish blend was in the 'fish-food' style (which can be fast-burning, which this is), and needed a lot of rehydration. It didn't seem to affect the rose flavor much (I hope), as it was still at about the level of Grasmere Flake which has been jarred for a year or so. While I'm glad I was able to try it, I don't miss it. Those who like the flavoring of Grasmere but think the tobaccos are too strong might have loved this. Pretty ads, though!
