Uhle's Black Stoker

(3.17)
Cavendish toasted to a smoke black color with just a sprinkling of cured dark brown Cavendish. Flavored firstly with Old Colony Rum...let set a fortnight...again reworked with Chocolate Flavoring...extremely mild and pleasant.

Another good aromatic from Uhle's. Smokes cool and even though the tobacco seems wet, it smokes dry right down to the bottom to a fine ash. Most aromatics seem to sizzle when they get near the bottom from built up goop, but Uhle's blends apparently are flavored with a non-sugary casing. Aromatics will never be my mainstay, but Black Stoker delivers good flavor without the usual aromatic drawbacks. My preference among the Uhle aromatics is Old Shoe, which to me is just a little smoother, but Black Stoker is a good choice.

4/17/2015 - Without trying it seems that I ordered this blend almost one year to the day last April, bizarre. As I had mentioned last year it seems much dryer than in the past and had asked the gentleman on the phone if they had restrained on the toppings (in a good way). He responded with " I assure you that we do not cut corners on our aromatics).. Oops I think I offended him but that's truly what sets Uhle's apart, they take extreme pride in their blends and it shows. Just as tasty as ever but comes at a much more smoke able moisture level now 🙂 Keep it packed very loose!! Stoker prefers a larger bowl and a loose pack!

4/09/2014 - This is the blend that ten years ago made me a confirmed pipe smoker. This is still a daily smoke for me. I usually smoke 3 to 5 bowls a day of Black Stoker (its that good) The German chocolate cake flavor is just delicious! I just ordered more after finishing several pounds I had stashed, well geez ten years ago!! The new batch is much dryer than what I had before coming from Uhles. I used to be able to smell Black Stoker through the two bags and the box, not anymore but its much more smokable right away now so that's a plus. Is it as great as it was? O yes and my favorite aromatic.

6/12/2004 - I love rum cased blends. This one has an irresistable chocolate taste with a sweet tip of the nose rum aroma. I could smell this blend through Uhle's double sealed bag. Tastes great like eating a Chocolate cake while drinking a large rum and coke. Black cavendish with some brown strands here and there. This will make any man a hero in his own home, and the only blend i've had that really tastes like real Hershey's chocolate. Mmmm Yum!!
