I recently went in to Straus Tobacconist and the fellow there told me try #412. He gave me a free sample as they were transitioning from the old blend to the new one. I have smoked the old one off and on over the years. I really like the new blend. After 15 plus years of going in the store I finally put 2 and 2 together and figured out that #412 is the address of the store...DUH. Great English blend for the new smoker or just a nice diversion from the every day.

I'll give props to the Straus bulk blends. They are underrated. This tobacco dries well, easily stays lit, and smokes consistantly in any pipe. It's a good outdoor smoke. Smoked fast the latakia can take over and remind you that you really have a big smoke here. Puffed slowly it blends with virginia and fire cured cavendish for a smooth smoke full of varying flavors. #412 and Lane Limited BS005 are the same. The "step up" is Straus blend #88. Probably without the latakia dominance. This blend is way good Latakia. 5 stars.
