Mac Baren Stockton
(3.06)
A spun tobacco, cut in small birds eyes. A very special, mild and cool smoke. Cavendish and dark-fired Kentucky this blend has a mellow sweetness with spicy, smoky undertones.
Notes: The natural sugar content of the ripe Virginia tobaccos gives Stockton a slight sweetness. Unsweetened cavendish made from smoked dark-fired Kentucky tobaccos has been added, giving a piquant taste. As a result, the tobacco is slightly bitter and rounded in taste.

Mac Baren released this in the US in July 2020 as a limited edition release which was a nice summer surprise. I purchased a couple of tins to cellar, but one was dented up in transit (thanks UPS) so I decided to open that one to jar to prevent any future issues.
The large tin (3.5oz) is jammed full of the small twists. The tin note to me was a little spicy and similar note to Three Nuns Green. As mentioned the tobacco is a little moist so I let it air about 2 hours before smoking. The coins were broken up and loaded in a smaller Canadian.
Lighting takes a couple of tries ot get going but once burning it provides a flavorful smoke. It required a couple of relights and produced quite a bit of moisture (nothing a pipe cleaner can't fix). The smoke to me was a little spicy from the dark fired and very consistent throughout the bowls. The Nic to my taste was mild. It burns a little warm to me but not enough to produce tongue bite.
I think this will age well and I hope that Mac Baren decides to introduce this to the US market in non-limited release so that more smokers can enjoy it.

Here I join the review of PipePaladin; this tobacco is absolutely top quality! it just needs some of your valuable attention, please just handle it with some care and respect, proper packing and slow puffing is the Only way to enjoy this wonderful blend.
Original:
This is a blend of Virginia with Dark Fired Kentucky (air-cured and smoked Burley) tobacco, it tastes full, dark and earthy, and it is unflavored with very natural tobacco taste. It is a slightly bitter and rounded in taste. Overall this has a delicious and natural tobacco flavor.

Tin date Feb 2023; tin note of mildly sweet, mildly tart and slight grassy. Tobacco is a coin cut of orangish tan, brown and dark brown centers. Moisture content is ok. Some pipe smokers will want to dry this a bit. Rubs out easily. Burns slow with a few relights. The strength is medium and nic is mild to medium. No flavoring detected. Taste is medium and very consistent, with notes of sour spices, peaty sweet vegetation, herbal floral, tangy spicy, mildly bitter toasted bread, mildly savory, mild sugar, dry wood, very earthy, mild molasses, a tart lemon grassy and semi-sweet nutty background note, and a peppery retro. Dark-Fired Kentucky Cavendish is leading with Virginia supporting. Room note is pleasant to tolerable, and aftertaste is good.
