Smoked a pouch of this tobacco, not so bad but burns a little hot and moistens the pipe. Bites your tongue a little. My pipe and balsa filter was all wet in the end...

The aroma on the pouch is pleasing and not so strong as in CB Gold or white. The tobacco is light, yellowish and very dry, as cigarette's tobacco would, and that's the main point of my critical approach on this one. The flavor is very light, you can feel it's the most neutral of all CB blends, typical vanilla notes with a hidden cocoa hint plus that what some people may call a "chemical" taste (not really bad for me) which is some sort of signature to all CB blends. However, for being such a dry tobacco, sometimes it bites even more than the other blends and it definitely shouldn't. If one should appreciate its "mildness", it could be ruined by such dryness, thus biting the smokers tongue and burning faster than it should. For me it is too flat, too biting and too dry, lacks even CB's personality in it. I wouldn't buy it again having either Gold or White at hand.

This is a good Cavendish for people that enjoy extra mild tobaccos, but it is so mild... in the Nicotine, and in the flavour and taste.

A very good choice for people around you! due to exaggerated aroma they have put into it.If you want to have a good influence on chicks it could be one of your options! A very bad tongue bite that when you brush your teeth and toothpaste touches your tongue the burning sensation will make you cry!!! definitly Not a good one for beginners

to me it is the gold blend with different casing thats all. very light tobacco,,n if u paid more attention u might get the taste of vanilla out there,,hold fire well and burn into fine ash,,would partially recommend it if you enjoy light aromatics but be worn that it is a hot steam producing blend (at least to my experience. aroma is acceptable to many.

If your just starting out and want a low nicotine smoke this is it, It's not bad, but no kick. I guess why it's called light. It smells great. I remember a city transit train operator smoking this while operating. It was blowing through all the windows, ahh! So pleasant and sweet smelling. I caught a look at him packing his pipe, thats how I know it was this blend. So I figured eh, what the heck, I'll try it! I did and I didn't like it. To each his own I guess!

Captain Black Round Taste, like all others in the CB range, is a tobacco for aromatic lovers. If you like sweet, creamy vanilla, with varying degrees of dark chocolate, nutmeg or cocoa, this is good. It smells the way an aromatic “must”: it engulfs the senses, dominates the room with a powerful zest, and most people—if not die-hard anti smokers—will compliment the aroma. It has a Christmas-late autumn-snowy weather effect on most people.
I say “must” and not “should” smell, because there are plenty aromatic tobaccos out there that, in my opinion, are better tasting, have a more defined tobacco-structure, but are not as assertive and cloying as most CB’s. Still, this is as good as MacBaren’s Vanilla Cream or any aromatic McClelland (Best of Show comes to mind), but at half the price and readily available at most tobacconists, even if they don’t carry the more sophisticated brands.
I enjoy aromatics every now and then, and of the CB range I still find the original white pouch the most appealing, followed closely by the gold one. But this is a good choice if you want something milder than the rest of the range, and not as sugary-deep as Royale or the new Black, this can be a good, easy to get, and rather cheap option.
