Opening the tin I was dissapointed, no Amaretto smell at all. Firsts smokes we're also unpleaseant. So I let it rest for some weeks, what brought the Amaretto smell to the tin and a more pleasant smoke, although nothing very special.
So, is it a total waste? No, for sure I'll finish the tin and enjoy. BUt won't buy again. There are, even in the Peterson line, very better options. So it's just "somewhat reccomended".

Sunset Breeze, makes you picture that you are on an Island vacation or on a Luxury yacht somewhere in the Caribbean. 🙂
This was my first tinned tobacco I bought after smoking dozens of our local tobacconist's house blends. I wanted something with an aroma that makes everything smell nice LOL.
Well opening the tin it smelled divine, ameretto was pronounced, nuts and a hint of maple maybe. It was the best purchase I made I thought at the time. It was slightly on the moist side so I set it out on my tobacco board and let it air about 20 minutes or so.
I loaded it in a Big Ben pipe, cannot remember the model but it was bent pipe. My lord was I surprised when I smoked this. I was a new pipe smoker at the time and did not realize that that delicious smells from the tin did not translate to the taste. It was HOT, like in steamy hot. No tobacco taste, no amaretto or tastes of any kind, just pure hot steam. Oh and I made my first acquaintance with tongue bite. Well needless to say, I was left with a sore tongue and a tobacco I did not like.
I tried smoking this a few times, I really wanted to like this tobacco but every smoke was the same. It got put down somewhere and I forgot about it. 4 month or so later i discovered it again but it was dried out, still smelled great though but I chucked it into the bin. It just was not for me, it smoked too hot and too wet.

I really liked this one. Mild and very nice touch of amaretto. Be careful not to smoke it too fast, prefer it to smoke it very slowly.

This blend hits somewhere in the middle of the Peterson aromatic line up. It just really does nothing for me personally, YMMV. Tin note and room note are very pleasing, just has no oomph in the flavor or nicotine areas.

Fine cut tobacco, quite dark. Smells amaretto out of the tin.
Tongue taste (the taste you feel on your tongue when you first get the smoke into your mouth): Very mild, with a slight sugary taste and some citrus hints.
Snork taste (the taste when you roll the smoke around in your mouth and out of your nostrils): Slightly dry, possibly a bit of virginia. Parchment.
All together: Smells nice but tastes too mild. Sometimes difficult to taste at all - a lot of "hot air". Those who are more acutely sensitive to sweet taste might like it, but I need something that has more taste than this one.

As stated elsewhere, this is undoubtedly one of the best aromatics around today. For too long, I made the mistake of judging a book by its cover, and ignoring this tobacco because of its super cheesy name, which to me sounds more like some coconut sun blocker. But truly, what's in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, and if Sunset Breeze were called Crapomatic, it would still be among the best tobaccos on the market.
For my part, the primary attribute of this weed that allows it to surpass the myriad of other aromatics to be had is the absolute lack of tongue bite: No small feat for an aromatic, whose ingredients are usually a straight receipe for creating nothing but bite. This lack of bite allows one to actually TASTE the flavors intended to be experienced, in this case, sweet arametto balanced with fine, mild tobaccos. One does not overpower the other. There are no issues with lighting. No issues with moisture, at least in my opinion.
So-called purists may balk at the toppings, repeating the tired adages regarding just what a real tobacco is meant to be, but in truth, a real tobacco is meant to taste good and be enjoyable to those who partake, and Peterson's Sunset Breeze certainly does and is. Let the purists scoff: more of it for us!

I don't like Amaretto - it is too sickly sweet for me. I love this tobacco though! The Amaretto taste is not overly sweet or overwhelming. There is some caramel in there too.
The room note is fantastic and will garner tons of compliments. Lucky bystanders will get to smell caramel, baked goodies and a hint of almonds. Yet, it has some kind of fresh note too. It is both warm and fresh. Sunset Breeze is an apt name. This is one of those tobaccos where I exit and re-enter the room several times during a smoke just to enjoy the room note.
I can still remember how this tobacco bit me, even when smoking very slowly, when I first took up the pipe. Nowadays there is no bite - just a very definite mouth feel, which actually contributes to the smoking experience. Just shows how mouth chemistry adapts with time.
In conclusion, a very nice Virginia, Burley and Black Cav aromatic, if you like aromatics. It does smoke a bit hot though, and for this reason I give it 3 and not 4 stars.

When I first popped open the tin everyone in the room commented on the wonderful Amaretto fragrance that almost immediately filled the room. Upon first light it blow-torched my mouth, but when I recovered and continued I really enjoyed this blend. The tobacco was good and the Amaretto wafted in and out very nicely. The tongue bite was only present upon lighting up. Take it easy and light up slowly, you will be rewarded.

Peterson's Sunset Breeze is a classic aromatic. When people (non-smokers primarily) encounter a pipe smoker and explain that they love the smell of a pipe, this is the very stuff that is usually being conjured in their minds and senses. There is more of a cherry essence than the 'Amaretto aroma' stated on the tin, but there is the sweetness of a liqueur detectable in the room note. This is pleasant stuff (and I say that as someone who does not usually smoke aromatics).

This is GREAT stuff. Really, really excellent mixture of Virginia, Burley and Black Cavendish. But definitely thing that won my heart, and taste buds (and my wife:))is a wonderful Amaretto aroma. Fantastic! This is really good, even if you are not big fan of aromatics - for the first time, I smoke something that have same taste as smell in room. My favorite.
