Please, no. I bought this tin to test aromatics, being a newcomer to pipe smoking, and the tin note is delicious, with amaretto in abundance. Once lit, there is no flavour, tongue bite and that's it. If the glow is sniffed, ammoniacial stench fills the nostrils. Avoid.
Pipe Used: Bassa dymka pot
Age When Smoked: New

Ouch this bit me, almost as bad as Sweet Killarney. I loved the Amaretto aroma and so did everyone within smelling distance but boy I just can't get past the bite. Shame really... Otherwise the Amaretto topping smells and tastes (when I could taste it through the flame) just like Disaronno and is truly heavenly. Save your money and pass on a tin...

This one is a miss for me. It looks and smokes alot like Peterson's other virginia blends, but I just can't forgive the stale, fruity aftertaste. It's like smoking Malibu rum. Try Luxury Blend or Connoisseur's choice instead.

I agree with the others here that when you first open the tin the aroma is wonderful. That's where the "Wonderful" stopped for me. The little flavor that was noticeable was for lack of a better word "Bitter". I caught a faint whiff of the amaretto but I couldn't take the extreme bitterness that this blend had. I tried it in 3 pipes to make sure that it wasn't the pipes fault or that I had been picking up some ghost flavors from one of the 3 pipes, But it continued to be the same. To be fair, I may have just gotten a bad batch. It was kind of dry when I opened the tin, So I am going to rehydrate it some and see if that helps. I will post again with a updated review if anything changes.

Sunset Breeze... Not just another Amaretto scented aromatic. But a almost tasteless Amaretto scented aromatic. Nothing but hot air that wants to bite. I can get more taste from a empty pipe that needs cleaning. This would be a joke, if it were not for its high cost. To each their own.

If pipe tobaccos were judged solely on tin note then Sunset Breeze would be easily ranked as a four star supreme. Its aroma, to use a use an expression so well worn its practical raggedy at the joints, is simply divine. Probably the Amaretto me thinks. Unhappily for Sunset Breeze they aren't. And once you go beyond the glories of the tin note, what you are left with it is an admittedly high quality tobacco which tragically reeks of the most unholy chemical taste that is worldly possible. There is grass growing around Chernobyl that contains less chemicals then this blend.

I'm afraid this chemical flavouring is a feature which nearly all Peterson's aromatics are guilty of.

The one exception is Connoisseurs Choice which is a truly magnificent aromatic. Granted there are a lot of people out there who love this tobacco. Sadly I'll never join those ranks. I'll give Sunset Breeze two stars, both of which are for the tin note.

Maybe because my tin looks different (red label?) than one in the photo, this tobacco does not have any quality to be "recommended". It is good-looking, fine smelling but without even of trace of pleasure of smoking. Boring, boring, boring!

My rate is pure 1.

I couldn't force myself to like this one. Good quality tobacco and a decent aroma, just not an enjoyable flavor for me. I generally like amaretto but apparently not in my tobacco.
