I am not of those who has not picked a favorite; I enjoy a good English on some days, and a top-end aromatic at other times. I always keep ten blends on hand to suit the mood. This Holger Danske offering is making me re-think my strategy, however. Forget about that business of the aromatics smoking hotter than a nice English blend; this one has the taste and room pleasing aroma, but burns as cool as any English blend every time, from first puff to dottle. I'll keep up with the habit of having ten good blends around the house, but one of them will always be Holger Danske Original Mild Orange.

It don't taste orange to me...then again, aromatics seldom taste like what they are advertised to ape...otherwise, a perfectly inoffensive, sweetish aro.

The only tobacco that actually tastes somewhat orangey to this naturbelassen fancier is Capstan Mild. Not that I like that one, either.

I liked this blend really it's not bad, but I prefer Blue Note as an aromatic. I have been on a recent jag of consuming the flavor orange. I made marmalade, made a chocolate orange cake, and so forth. I figured why not try to find an orange aromatic tobacco. Well this is a blend that is rather chunky like Blue Note but I do not rub it out but just fill up the bowl. Lit easy and stayed lit. It is mild but can get hot so take it easy. I liked the flavor but to each his own it did not seem to overwhelm the blend to me. Eventually a tobacco flavor comes through though and it is sorta Virginian in nature. In the world of aromatics this is not too far behind in comparison to Blue Note, but for many Blue Note is too flavored so heck 6 of these half dozen of the other. I feel it is worth a try if you need a public smoke.

It smells like oranges but while smoking it doesn't give you any taste of orange or it disappears soon after the very first puffs. Overall, an average aromatic if you like the smell of it. There are better ones. Burns to ash but requires a few relights.

Mild Orange is a good description for this one. It smells great, tastes like it smells, and has a pleasant room note according to my wife.

Appearance- ribbons of different shades of tobacco, more light than dark it appears.

Smoking- Very easy to pack and light. Did not require relights in my experience. No tongue bite.

Taste - light orange. Not over the top or overly sweet. Base tobacco is tasty with a mild sweetness. Nothing harsh.

To me not an everyday smoke, but compared to many aromatics a quite pleasant one. Would be nice in the morning with coffee and maybe some orange juice.

This is a pretty, medium-cut tobacco with the tones ranging from light black to dark yellow. The scent from the tin is of mild fruit, and the aroma when lit is also pleasantly mild and light.

As far as aromatics go, this is a pretty inoffensive one: those who aren't usually fans of these blends may like to try it. I find the mild, natural tobacco flavour is nicely balanced with a faint presence of citrus fruit. Also, unlike many aromatics, this one only occasionally feels sweet. Mellow, indeed. This blend burns slow and cool, which adds to the overall enjoyment of it.

Chunky light Virginia and Black Cavendish blend with a pleasing orange zest flavor. Loads, lights and smokes like a dream for me. Moisture just right and requires few relights. Flavor profile consistent throughout the smoke. Pleasant after taste an no bite as well. Others are critical of this blend but I find it to be a top drawer Aromatic with out any goopy residue. Smoke this one on a regular basis and will continue to do so. Solid three here!
