This is a nice 'clean' aromatic with cedar/wood hints that doesn't leave your tongue coated in syrup. If you like 'dryish' tasting aromatics try it as it might be for you (although I suggest using a fresh pipe to catch all it has to offer.) Stay away from it if you don't like aromatics because this is unlikely to change your mind.
'She who must be obeyed' loves the room note. You won't make enemies with 'Classic' unless you smoke it too fast and then your tongue is going to HATE you!

well the wife liked it, but I went to the local headshop and found her a comperable insence that did not make my toungh crackle like bacon on a skillet. There was more pain than savoring for me in this blend. It burned poorly and had verrry little taste.

Loved the packaging. Tobacco bit. Even smoking this very slooowly in a meerschaum, after three puffs it was ouch time. Don't even think of smoking this with something distilled.

I am an English smoker that prefers more natural tobaccos, so this one was simply a dissapointment. The casing and flavor is really heavy on the citrus side. The casing on this blend, like the others in the collector series, causes me great bite. I prefer many robust Latakia blends, blends heavy on perique, and many of those offered by Gawith and Hoggart. Nothing I've smoked up to this point has yeilded such bite. I bought this blend inorder to venture into the aromatic world but, that scene just isn't for me. The tobacco is of great quality, and the presentation is beautiful, but taste is what I'm after and this one offered little in return.

To be completely honest, this is a very high quality danish aromatic, and had I smoked this a while back I probably would have enjoyed its mild aromatic flavor.
As the above reviewer has already pointed out the tin is by far the high point of this blend. It is quite simply the most beautiful tin I have come across to date. Inside the tin the lovely golden pouch hints to something special inside, and I should have left it at that.
But alas, I had to open that lovely golden bag, to be greeted by the classic fruit scent of a danish aromatic. Knowing that I would probably never enjoy such a creation I persisted.
I must be honest, it was not as bad as I expected. As noted by the esteemed EULENBURG (whose reviews I do so enjoy), the predominant flavor is tobacco with a slight cherry backdrop.
This would probably be a wonderful tobacco for the aromatic smoker looking for a quality smoke without the soggyness of so many of the tobaccos in this family. Being an english smoker, this just did nothing for me. (At least I get to keep the tin)

This is good aromatic. Toping is mild, so you can feel natural taste of tobacco. No tongue bite, even puffed fast. Hints of vanilla, dried fruits and nuts. not the best aromatic for me, but worth 4 stars !!!

Meh
As an opening I should state that my stuff was at least 5 years old when I bought it, and I think I have had it for at least 5 or more years, so it is not the freshest. While aging does wonders for many tobaccos this one appears to have lost some of the flavor and complexity that the casing would have brought, as the casing is next to nonexistent in mine at this point. I think this may have happened before I even tinned it as I have kept it in a sealed glass jar, but regardless the casing is pretty much gone, so it smells and smokes like a light virginia dominant blend with no real condiment flavor left. For me it tends to burn hot if not smoked with care, and a little wet even though I dried to bone dry to the touch before smoking.
I gave it two stars instead of one because it tastes good, albeit mild, and I can see this appealing to someone looking for a very mild slightly sweet virginia blend. There are so, so many other better virginia's out there, and better aromatics, that this really cannot be justified. Every bowl is just taking the place of something better. Perhaps a fresh pouch would offer more flavor and satisfaction, but mine is over the hill.

W.O. Larsen - Classic.
I opened this thinking it was an English, the tin note rectified that idea! That's the first thing that confuses me: the unlit aroma suggests a strongly flavoured, slightly floral, and possibly perfumey aromatic; this is way off the mark. As has been previously stated by Krg1000, the moistness is good, so it's a case of open, load, and light!
I'd say, for the inaugural part of the smoke, the figs are dominant in the smoke; more so than any other flavour: I get a superb dark fruitiness. It takes around ten minutes for this to abate somewhat, and then I'm unsure as to what the 'other/misc' flavourings are, but other than the figs, cherries are the only other taste I can identify.
The other details concerning Classic are fairly straightforward: I get a mild nicotine amount, the room-note's very pleasant, no bite whatsoever, it burns superlatively (leaving a white ash), and the smoke's cool.
I can't understand why I'll be the first to award this four stars, but it's the subjective nature of piping that makes it fun!
Highly recommended.

Easy to smoke, nothing special. Makes for a relaxing but uneventful experience. Recommend to a novice or, like myself, to smoke while focusing on work. Banana.

It's not the worst of aromatics. Not too heavily cased, not too hot or biting. But seems to me to lack some character both in flavoring and tobacco departments. If you are a fan or aromatics, you might give it a try. But don't be surprised if you'll find it quite plain and boring.
