Vauen Tradition No 2
(2.60)
TRADITION N°2. The arty and nostalgic design shows another popular VAUEN advertising figurehead of the 1920s.
A unique and exquisite blend of mainly different Virginia varieties. Red and golden Virginias are harmoniously composed with two supplementary Virginias ready rubbed. Cube cuts and curly cuts refine this exclusive, natural mixture. A touch of dark fired and perique underlines the specific character of a complex natural sweetness and a hint of spicy aroma.

IMO the current rating (2.3) is not indicative of the enjoyment the smoke provides. So I figured, why not chime in and see if we can raise the mean score.
The VA notes are there as pointed out by others: grassy, hay-like, tart, lemony. Someone described the flavor as rather one-dimensional, but I don’t get that it all. It’s not exactly complex, but the perique and dark fired certainly provide a pinch of mild spice and some added depth, which seem to last throughout the bowl. The ribbon and tiny coins light easily and maintain a steady smoldering pace. Little to no bite, with a buttery smooth texture.
I’m happy I picked up 3 tins of Tradition No. 2. Well worth the cost, especially when you consider the cost ain’t that much. If you’re unhappy with yours, by all means send it my way. 3.5 rounded to 4.
