The deeply rich, punchy butterscotch is sweet and also sports a mildly savory burnt toast, lightly bitter and sugary with a small floral note and a pleasantly lingering after taste and room note. The strength is a step shy of the medium mark. The taste is medium. The nic-hit is a slot below the center of mild to medium. There’s no chance of bite or harshness. The tobacco is a little moist, but I saw no need to dry it. Burns cool, clean and rather smooth with no artificial or chemical notes to the finish. Leaves little dampness in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Can be an all day smoke. Four stars.

Another excellent and unique tobacco from Wilke! Definitely an all black cavendish blend, but not a run-of-the-mill one. For me, most black cavendish blends taste like strong vanilla or sometimes stewed fruit/stewed prunes, or both. This black cavendish is much less sweet and without a pronounced stewed fruit flavor. To me, it tastes like tobacco blended with a traditional old butterscotch recipe of dark caramelized sugar and butter, versus the typical sweet yellow butterscotch candy. Think buttered toast with caramelized sugar. Easy to light, keep lit, and quite dry, considering it is an aromatic. Pleasant aromatic room note. No bite whatsoever. Very light on the nicotine. An excellent tobacco!
