You get some nutty, earth and light molasses from the burley. The Virginia has a little citrus and some grass in a secondary position. For some reason, the tobaccos seem a little toned down from what they could be, but you do get a natural flavor as the name implies. The nic-hit is mild. Burns a bit warm, and needs a slow puffing cadence to avoid harshness and/or bite. Needs very few relights, and leaves little dampness in the bowl.

I've tried two Skandinavik blends, this and the full aromatic. This is much better. Don't waste your money on the other blend. The characteristics of this tobacco are described well by the majority of reviews here. Mild flavor, mild room note, a bit hot if puffed quickly. The only thing I can add is my experience and my preferences. If I'm gonna go full flavor, I'd prefer some heavy English blend or some VaPer. If I'm gonna go totally mellow and almost no flavor, I'll stick to the usual suspects, Carter Hall or Prince Albert. If I'm gonna go aromatic, it'll probably be with Capt. Black. This just doesn't really fit anywhere, so I'll enjoy this blend's mildness while it lasts then get something else. EDIT 7/4/13: Once you let this blend dry out it ranks up just underneath CH and PA in mellowness. Still, you gotta puff slowly. Buy it only if you can get a pouch under $9.

I think this one is now sold as Skandinavic WHITE. Its an OK blend but nothing more.. Very mild (BODY:1) with mild taste and aroma (AROMATIC TASTE:2 ROOM NOTE:2) and nothing really sophisticated about it.. at least my room had a very discreet smell.. I don't think I am going to buy another pouch though..

This is a very mild, uneventful tobacco. If you are used to more venerable blends, it may not only seem to lack in character, but it can also burn hot and parch your tongue. There are some similarities with Mac Baren's Virginia Nº1, excpet that Skaninavik's includes Burleys and it is even milder.

For a new smoker, however, this may be a nice introduction to straight tobaccos. It has a pleasant natural flavor if smoked very slowly. Not too moist this bright tobaccos is easy to pack and it lights almost instantly.

Hey...this blend wasn't bad...in fact, I liked it! That was somewhat of a surprise to me because I thought this would be a typical Danish aromatic. I know the pouch called it a natural blend, but seriously, how often have we heard the Danes call a blend natural and it turned out to be a light aromatic?

This particular blend burns very similarly to Prince Albert, although it is a step or two up from the Prince. I detected mostly a burley flavor, although I suspicion there may be some quality virginia hiding down in there somewhere too. And the cost was worth the voyage! Try some.

Appearance: A typical Danish ?Cavendish?, possibly best described as a coarse shag. Mostly medium brown with a few darker traces visible.

Aroma: Very straight-forward Burley blend with no traces of Oriental leaf to my nose. Also no traces of added scents or flavors.

Packing: The blend was easy to pack in every pipe that I tried, from Peterson Barrels to large billiards.

Lighting: In keeping with the cut, it took flame readily, hardly needing a charring light. Mostly one match and go.

Initial flavor: A fairly light taste, but interesting. Mostly a slightly bitter, nutty taste from the Burley. Mostly stayed in he middle range, no highs or lows.

Mid-bowl: Still a plain honest flavor, with little complexity or layering. Cool enough if not smoked rapidly, and no trace of gurgle.

Finish: Again, not much change at the bottom. Also not much dottle, if any.

Summary: A good all-day smoke if you like lighter blends. It does not need your full attention, so may be smoked while working on other tasks, even outdoors. Definitely good quality, just what I expect from Orlick..
