HU Tobacco Cochmondt
(3.50)
The basic structure of the Cochmondt is a good medium- strength Virginia cube cut, mixed with Black Cavendish and Latakia. Scottish fudge fans will find their home at the Cochmondt. The aromas of caramel and vanilla with a small hint of Tonka go so well with the calm tobacco base. A sweet and tart temptation with addictive potential. The Cochmondt is ideal with the famous Five O 'Clock Tea or with a chocolate espresso.

The Virginia provides some tart and tangy citrus, grass, bread, sugar, vegetation, floralness, mild darker fruit, earth and wood as the lead component. The toasty sweet black cavendish is a supporting player. The sweet Cyprian Latakia offers some smoke, wood, earth, floralness, herbs and a light leather note. It plays a secondary support role. I notice the caramel topping a tad more than the vanilla. The Tonka bean topping lurks in the background. The toppings lead the experience without drowning out the tobaccos. The strength and nic-hit are medium. The taste is a couple of steps past the medium mark. There’s no chance of bite or harshness, and it sports no rough edges. Burns cool and clean at a slightly slow rate with a very consistent, smooth, deeply rich tart and tangy fruity, sugary, fairly floral, mildly smoky flavor. Leaves very little dampness in the bowl. Requires a couple more than an average number of relights. Has a pleasantly lingering after taste and room note. Can be an all day smoke for the veteran aromatic smoker, and repeatable for the less experienced. Three and a half stars.
