Per Pipes and Cigars Website: Russ' RO62: I recently was surprised by my co-workers! With my 62nd birthday approaching, they went back through my files and found the recipe for cake tobacco that I really liked that we never produced because the press was tied up with too many other projects. Then they had a small batch made for me, and for sale. This is a real melange of tobaccos including Perique and Latakia, with plenty of flavor but isn't overwhelming. Get yourself a chunk of what they call RO62 and get ready for something really different
Notes: When asked what else is in the blend on a discussion board Russ stated "It was probably the most complex blend in terms of number of different tobaccos used and I liked the result. There are three different Virginias some Orientals and black Cavendish. The funny thing is that as time goes one I found myself using fewer components and still being pleased with the result.

Very rich and creamy-thick-smoking English. Complex. The VA, orientals, perique in balance, Latakia moderate. Citrusy and figgy to pleasure the palate. This is one of Russ’s best crumble cakes and was allegedly aged and forgotten long ago. Very limited supply. Was released for RO’s 62nd birthday. Please don’t buy it because then there will be less for me to buy. I very rarely smoke two bowls of any tobacco back-to-back; this one wouldn’t let go of me.

Jar note of pungent, smoky, and stewed tart dark fruit. Tobacco is a dark brown and black crumble cake. Moisture content is a little high. Breaks apart and rubs out easily, drying may be preferred. Burns slow with a few extra relights. The strength is medium and nic is mild to medium. No flavoring detected. Taste is medium and mostly consistent, with complex notes of tart stewed dark fruit, sweet grass, earth, floral, wood, spiced bread, creamy, slightly bitter orange peel, spicy, sour vegetation, a tangy lemon zesty background note, and a peppery retro. Virginias and Perique are leading with Cavendish and Latakia supporting. Oriental/Turkish is bringing up the rear, supporting when needed. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is great.
