20 year old tin of this opened today while looking for something else. Light and dark brown in colour, surprisingly not bone dry after so many years, and with an unusual tin note that is alcohol forward, and not at all unpleasant.
Easy to pack, easy to light and keep lit, and seems to be what it claims on the tin and in the blend description on this site. Obviously cased with cognac and other flavourings which may well be reminiscent of cherry, but not so strong as to overwhelm the underlying Virginias.
I can't say it is amazing, but it isn't so bad. I've had worse, I have to admit. No longer available as far as I can tell, and that's OK. Doesn't stand up well against more recent aromatic releases containing an alcohol casing from other blending houses, but that may be its age as much as anything else.
Can't buy it again and probably wouldn't, but I will turn to it occasionally until it is gone.
