Watch City Cigar Stubb's Pipe
(3.40)
In Moby Dick, The Pequod's second mate, Stubb, is a pipe smoking Cape Cod man, good tempered and "neither craven or valiant." A perfect description for this blend of our crumb cut burley, light, sweet Carolina flake, and just a touch of Virginia and Green River black. A very light unique aromatic is used and the entire blend is put through a "rum curing" process in which the liquid spirit never touches the tobacco. Delicious, cool, naturally fragrant and mild. Think "Codger Burley" with this one!

The bag note is sweet burley much like their crum cut however this had an added aroma of rum. It’s quite nice. Not overly wet or sticky.
The taste is burley forward. Wood, spice, grain, cocoa, and yes, a sweet rum. The rum is prominent in the first parts of the bowl and is really nice. More wood and spice than their deluxe crum cut. This is burley forward with a spicy and nutty retrohale. Has a slight sharper tangy flavor too that I associate with Virginia. Less sweet than deluxe crum cut. I’m really enjoying this with its woody nutty spicy cocoa rum flavor and hints of sweet tangy grassy Virginia. Nicotine is medium. Would not classify this as an aromatic.

Classic OTC codger style burley blends are definitely the sweet spot for me and this blend is a close contender for favorite in that genre. What I pick up mostly is a very nutty, slightly woody burley flavor with an ever so subtle hint of cocoa underlining and pushing the burley flavor forward.
The Virginia adds a mild, just right sweetness. Though I would not classify this as an aromatic, the room note is a beautiful thing.
An all day smoke that has replaced a couple of beloved blends in my rotation. Ernie Q is a genius.
