Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. - Rum and Maple.
It's a very coarsely broken flake, a little darker than medium brown and arrived at a good hydration to smoke straight away. Mind, I suspect it wouldn't cellar brilliantly as there was no rush of air when I prized off the lid: faulty seal.
From start to finish the maple leads in the flavour, monopolizing the smoke for the final third of a bowl. The rum seems to have been applied lighter, and lacks much alcoholic sharpness but gives lots of molasses sweetness. The tobacco has quite a laid back flavour: honey and grass. The bad news, for me, is the tongue bite, unless it's sipped tentatively it's a killer. It burns slowly at a medium temperature, but can become too warm under pressure.
Nicotine: mild to medium. Room-note: pleasant.
Gawith, Hoggarth & Co Rum and Maple? Not a bad tobacco but a bit boring and too snappy with tongue bite for any higher than two stars:
Somewhat recommended.
