...an excellent plain, simple, unflavored Burley...perhaps for some can serve as a base for other mixtures but I like it as is...somewhat dry when it arrived so a bit of hydration helped out...but all-in-all very smooth, a great nutty taste and inoffensive aroma... I can't detect any topping or flavoring...just a pure Burley tobacco taste... ...more to follow...

10/15/17-This is not BLWB...and I do not think it is what is called "Burley Mild"...continues to be a great smoke!

Summary: light Burley mixture with a slight floral topping, perfect for an all-day smoke that leaves that "old school" aroma in the air.

You can smoke a pipe for years, and then one day by accident, discover a new tobacco blend to love and enjoy. Lane "Burley" consists of mostly white and some dark Burley, perhaps slightly toasted, with a light topping that seems almost like rose water with a hint of vanilla. The blend ships dry, and like many Burley blends, smokes well without moisture because of its low sugar. The first light gives a whiff of that old school aroma that some may remember from barber shops and other places where codgers would smoke, but the characteristic Burley flavor follows. Some describe this as nutty, and others like roasted grain, but I compare it to a fireplace-toasted barley served with a warm mug of dark beer. That flavor stays consistent to the bottom of the bowl, with just a little sweetness in the last third. The room note is not unpleasant, and the rough cut mix -- jagged planes of leaf -- packs easily even on the go. It's not complex, but it's well-executed and thoroughly enjoyable, and now goes on my list of favorites.
