I purchased this vintage tin off Ebay with a newer Ready Rubbed tin since I enjoy the Flake version. The topping is much more pronounced in the ready rubbed and Mixture but not anywhere near Lane or Sutliff blends, still very old fashioned and restrained. This blend smokes hotter and must be allowed to smolder or else you will get bit and lose any nuances. I would stick with the flake and just rub out a few flakes to keep in the tin if time is a constraint and the reason you would choose the RR over the flake, also I see this has been discontinued which makes sense since it wasn't great anyways but worth a try as I love trying vintage anything....

THIS is the rubbed-out version of the PLUG and FLAKE. It is strong Virginia that has received the flavouring as a topping, not a casing. I kind of like it, but prefer the flake, and the PLUG most of all.
