Very compactly pressed plug with a nice structure of dark brown, almost black to golden brown leafs. Cold smell is sour and earthy with smoky tobacco notes but moderate over all.
I've cut it into cubes, I've cut and ripped off the layers and I've cut whole flakes off it to try different packing and it all worked very well. Needs a few relights when large pieces are packed and burns very slow.
Taste is of pure unscented tobaccos, wooden acidity, mossy with full earthy body; piquancy and hints of citrus and sweet plum or raisins. I'm kind of missing some more of that typical VA sweetness in there, sadly as it would make the smoke even more well-rounded.
All in all this plug contains well matured tobaccos with a rather dark wooden character. For me, it's not suitable for any situation and a glass of wine should be served as well. Moderate pricing makes it a recommendable tobacco for sure.
