Cult - Militia.

I always have Sundays as my Aromatic Day so selected this from my cellar. Normally, be it an aromatic, English, VaPer, etc., I look on this site to get an impression of the smoke, but as I'm the first to review it there isn't any other pipers to get an opinion from; C'est la vie!

Like a few blends nowadays a clear plastic disc sits atop the tobacco. There are a few larger pieces, but most of the ribbons are short, choppy, and slightly rugged. It includes a few long 'stick like' pieces but they're not so twiggy as to need fishing out. Militia has perfect hydration and an unquestionably sweet, added, aroma. The constituents are 50/50 black and brown.

Militia takes to the flame without an issue. Right from the beginning it burns well, not needing much in the way of attention to sustain the burn. The flavour? Sweet. The maple and caramel outweigh the vanilla. The vanilla's present, without a doubt, but causes more of a creamy undercurrent than a leading gloopy flavour. The ever so floral maple has the most weight, followed by the caramel; this just adds to the sweetness of the blend. The topping smothers the tobaccos, to a certain extent. The tobaccos have a bit of a boring character, just like any old VaBurCav, really; Militia is all about the casings. It doesn't bite and is cool in temperature.

Nicotine: mild, maybe a touch above. Room-note: nice.

Militia? A decent enough aromatic, not amazing, but worth three stars:

Recommended.
