Alfie Turmeaus - Turmeaus Own Christmas Blend.
The unlit mixture's about a medium grade ready rubbed: a bit coarse but not overly so, and it looks to be about 75% Burley/brown Cavendish with 25% black Cavendish. It smells strongly aromatic and the moisture's good.
I'll get a negative over with quickly: it bites me. With that out of the way it's not too bad a smoke. Out of the additives I find the cherry to be the lightest taste, (apart from during the initial few puffs), the alcoholic note from the sherry and whisky is much stronger. The vanilla rounds the mix nicely, by giving it the expected vanilla-creaminess; this actually increases in strength as a bowl progresses. The tobacco flavours are a little hidden by the fairly strong topping; it's more of a thorough-bred aromatic, than just a flavoured blend.
The nicotine's very mild, and the room-note's fairly heavy.
Despite the bite and note I quite like this:
Recommended.
