Sutliff Tobacco Company Maple Cavendish #14
(2.00)
Maple Cavendish is exactly what it says. Mellow Burleys are treated with premium maple flavor, then the tobacco is pressed to firmly imbed the top note into the leaf. It's sliced and tumbled into a ribbon-cut, with the result being a mildly-sweet tobacco with a comforting, old-fashioned aroma.

The nutty, toasty burley also sports a little earth, and a few molasses notes. The maple topping sublimates the burley to some extent, but weakens just a mite in the last quarter of the experience. Hardly has any nicotine. Won’t bite or get harsh, but may burn slightly warm if puffed fast. The taste level is just a step past mild. Burns cool at a reasonable pace with a fairly consistent, though not deep flavor. Leaves a little moisture in the bowl, and needs an average number of relights. Has a decent, short lived after taste. An all day smoke. Two and a half stars.

No bite, No gurgle, no nicotine. Charring light, maybe one relight and you're good to go. The pouch aroma is maple syrup. The taste and room note might remind you of a campfire. Pleasant when exhaling through the snork. I thought it smoked cool. While not spectacular, I thought it behaved pretty good for an aromatic.

Sutliff Tobacco Co. - Maple Cavendish.
The pouch includes an array of different styles of ribbon. Some tiny ones have settled at the bottom of the pouch, yet sat on the top are some pieces which would qualify as being coarse cut. It has an aroma where there's no mistaking the maple, and it's a bit damp.
The smoke is pleasant enough, albeit, unexceptional; some might say mundane! The Burley tastes good, it's quite smooth, without being too rustic, but the maple masks it. Granted, it isn't just some nondescript sweetness, it's unmistakably maple, but I'd like more Burley flavour. It burns cool, even, and doesn't bite from beginning to end.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.
This isn't anything horrible, nor is it anything special. Two stars:
Somewhat recommended.
