Argento is the most popular pipe tobacco series from Argentina and "Latakia" is propably the best one from there. We get a classic english mixture combining golden Virginias, a little pinch of Burley and a generous amount of Latakia. That won't be another rival for Dunhill's Standard Mixture, but Argento Latakia never claimed to compete with him. It's a cheap mixture (only 2-3 $ for a 50 g. pouch!), but only by price. Taste is promising and smell leaves no doubt that we deal with a solid latakia mixture.
If we add to a small % of Cavendish how great Scottish Mixture it could be... nevertheless Argento Latakia itself is worth to smoke.

A very well executed blend from Argentina. Like an Argentinian version of Early Morning Pipe except that the ribbons are not as thin. Virginias and Latakias full of flavor and smokiness. Very decent for the cheap price it has. I like it very much.

I agree, probably the best mix of Argento. The virginia bright tobaccos used are of great quality. So is the good amount of latakia in the mix. Unfortunately the bend is a little rough, possibly better after some time of cellaring.
