Dark, rich and immensely satisfying. Plum and prune flavours come to the fore in this luxurious mixture of black cavendish.

E. A. Carey - Black Aromatic.
This is a very indulgent smoke!
The ribbons are about the shortest I've come across. It's no surprise, from the name, they're black in colour. The aroma from the pouch is slightly aromatic, but not fruity, it's more of a simple sweetness. Although the contents are tightly packed together, they've not held in lots of water.
I must say, I like piping this blend; the smoke's thick, luxurious, cool, and mild. I can't see there being any space for this in my rotation as a morning smoke, it's far to mild. This, is destined to take the place of evening smoke. The flavour could be split into to separate entities: fruit and sugar. The fruity part is extremely mild: I only get a little nudge of plums/prunes. The sweet sugary side is much more formidable though: almost gluey and sticky; like I said, it's very indulgent!
If you want a mild flavoursome blend to relax with, this wouldn't disappoint. Or if you're beginning the hobby and seek something delicate, again this fits the bill.
I can definitely highly recommend this blend:
Four stars.
