The smoky, woody, earthy, very sweet, musty Cyprian latakia plays a lead role. The grassy, citrusy Virginias also sport light sugary dark fruit, a touch of citrus and grass along with a some earth and wood notes as a secondary player. The sharp, dry, nutty, woody, rather sour and floral white burley plays a rank below the Virginias. The unsweetened sugary, toasty black cavendish is a condiment. The sugary sweet topping is hard to define as it mildly sublimates the tobaccos. The strength is a couple of steps short of the medium mark. The taste just reaches the medium mark. The nic-hit is a step past the center of mild to medium. Won’t bite or get harsh. Burns cool and clean at a reasonable rate with a sweet and mildly creamy and savory, mostly consistent flavor. leaves little moisture in the bowl and requires an average number of relights. Has a lightly lingering, pleasant after taste. Can be an all day smoke.

This was the first English blend I ever smoked some 35 years ago and I would say it is still one of my favorite blends containing Latakia. It is a very light sweet smoke that packs and lights easily and requires very little to keep smoldering. The smoke volume is good and the room note is acceptable for an English blend. The taste of the tobacco is nicely sweet, with a hint of campfire woodiness. Some pipe smokers speak of a creaminess in the smoke... not a description I often use but I would say it fits pretty nicely here. As a side note, there was a period where I think something changed in the quality or consistency of the blend when it did not hit the spot as well but my more recent purchases seem to have been right on target. A very good blend for those wanting to move from aromatics to English. Especially flavorful for cool weather outdoor smoking.

A good "English" blend for those wanting to move to "English" Blends. Love the taste. This was my main blend until I "graduated" to their Angry Cornishman blend. (Which tastes the same but with a little more latakia)
If you are an "English" fan, I don't see how you can't like this blend.

creamy, sweet and smooth, not expected at all when i first lit it up. has latakia but its very mild in the smoke and really showed itself in the after taste. takes the flame easily and was perfect for smoking right out of the bag. there was almost a vanilla like sweetness which i could only imagine comes from some sort of flavoring, it melded well with the tobaccos and only really came through for me in the retrohale. i didn't dectect it at all while nosing the bag.
a smoke to be enjoyed any time of day.
