McGahey - Zeal Champagne.
Today, up until now, I've smoked lots of Mississippi River, anything would seem a bit of a disappointment after that magic!
Firstly, the blend looks quite charismatic, it's got all sorts of shape, size and colour included! The smell is slightly aromatic but nothing too major. It's well hydrated so can be piped right from the pouch.
The tobacco flavours are pleasant enough; quite smooth and rounded. The part of the taste that lets this down is the champagne; it doesn't come over well and instead of giving the blend a zesty sharpness it just makes it taste a little sour. On the positive side though, it burns well and gives off a nice room note.
I've had some decent smokes from these guys but sadly this isn't one of them.
It may have been better had it not followed Mississippi River!
One star.
