I finally got a tin of this through a trade just a few months ago and was eager to try it because I wanted to know what Luigi was smoking in his well crafted pipes! Excellent Virginia leaf here that is of a strong variety and packs some punch. The Perique was carefully laid in the background but still peeked its head out from the bed sheets from time to time. A fun smoke and I hope Luigi likes it!

I purchased this tin 4 years ago when I was beginning to discover VaPers, and was acquainted with only a few of them, principally Escudo. After popping the top and trying a bowls, I wasn't pleased because it seemed rather characterless. So, I put the tin away in order to get some age on it. The tobaccos are a mottled range of browns, and appear to be rubbed out quite thin pieces of flake, quite easy to light and to keep lit. Aging has produced a considerable improvement. The tin note is that of red fruit with very moderate sweetness and just slightly sour, I assume from the Perique, The label calls it a "hint", but it's now more than that, much more forward than before, but still not dominant, just nicely balanced with the VA, with the "nose tingle" that one expects from this leaf. Requires few relights. Highly recommended.
