Wessex/Planta-Wild Cut Supreme.
From the pouch this gives a superb aroma. One can detect chocolate and raisin with a slight nuttiness. The tobacco pieces are quite stocky in build, all with a good content of water. The black Cavendish is of a much higher proportion in comparison to the Virginia but I guess as this is supposed to be a sweeter aromatic that is needed to bring it up to the mark.
The different flavourings all balance together to make a very pleasant taste. None of the addetives are too strong, instead they all join together to create a harmonious flavour. I get a really smooth, slightly nutty, really creamy, raisin esc flavour. The smoke is thick in its build and it creates a good amount of it. I find it's cool in temperature and doesn't bite me so I can take big puffs to savour the flavour. Nicotine? Well there isn't much of it! Now that suits me as I don't smoke my pipe for N but any nicotine guys would probably feel a bit cheated by it! As I mentioned at the beginning, the black Cav' is by far a greater quantity compared to the Virginia and this is definitely attested in the taste. They may say this has V' in it but I can't taste it!
This is one of those blends where as soon as the pipe is finished I'm aching for my next bowlful!
Four stars for this delicious blend!
