This blend is one of the reasons why I started smoking pipes on a regular basis. I stumbled into a small shop around the corner from my home, expecting maybe a few pouches of Borkum Riff or Half and Half, what I found was a dedicated shop for in-house blends. Black Knight is a rich, dark, sweet and syrupy aromatic that smells like caramel and rum. At initial char it's very black cavendish, nutty with a thick, almost oily grey smoke. There is a speck of latakia, but not as heavy as other dark aromatic house blends which is great for me, as in an aromatic, I like lat in small batches (in English and non-aros it's the opposite). As you work your way down the bowl, the nutty flavors get stronger and stronger, leaving an aftertaste of caramel and walnuts.
The nicotine is present, but fairly mild. It's a great "session" tobacco that you can smoke a really big bowl of, without worrying if you have had enough to eat and drink prior. As with most aromatics, I did find a little gurgle if smoked too slowly.
As far as the room note, my wife says it has a smell like burned caramel, which she loves. I can get away with smoking this indoors without complaint.
This is a great choice for an everyday, if you like aromatics. Unfortunately they don't ship, so if I ever move I will have to buy a few pounds.
