This is quite a departure from typical Germain’s blends but with the same deliciousness and quality as usual. It starts off as a good balance of bright Virginias and dark fires Kentucky. You get a nice earthy flavor with a slight natural sweetness in the background from the Virginias. As the bowl progresses the Kentucky takes a front seat but in a mellow smooth sort of way. The Virginias still add that bit of sweetness but seems more subdued once the Kentucky takes a front seat. I’m not a big Kentucky fan but this particular blend hit the spot. It’s a really broken flake and the cut is somewhat broader than a typical Germain’s blend. All in all in my book it is another home run by J.F. Germain and Co.
