I assume this is blended with equal parts of all 4 varieties. Wish the description would have said.
This is a very good smoke all by itself. The flavor is earth and dark fruit with the earth taking the lead. It's spicy, but not overly so. Nicotine is about medium to strong. I've had Gawith ropes with more nic. Body is close to full. 3 stars as a stand alone smoke.
As a blender this is the type of Perique that provides ample spice and modest flavor. This is not the type that is going to provide lots of fig, plum, and raisin flavor. 4 stars as a blender.
For that fruity type you can buy the Grand Point variety by itself in Daughter's and Ryan's "A Blenders Bench" series at Cup O' Joes. It comes in 6 oz tubs. All the varieties are available as well as many other blending tobaccos. The 6 oz tubs range in price from $19.99 to $49.99. Of course, the Periques are the most expensive.....of course. In my opinion, if you do any blending, it's worth the dough.
