Milan Tobacconists "Our" Walnut
(3.00)
"Our" Walnut is a blending of Burley, Cavendish, Kentucky, Latakia, Oriental/Turkish, and Virginia tobaccos. This is an English blend, not a walnut-flavored tobacco. John Middleton named the original Walnut after one of the oldest streets in Philadelphia.

The Virginia is grassy with a light tart and tangy citrus. It forms the base of the blend as a supporting player. The earthy, woody burley is moderately nutty and molasses sweet as it takes a small lead. The gold cavendish offers a drop or two of honey and toast as a minor component. The earthy, woody Oriental/Turkish is slightly smoky, a little woody with vegetative, spice in a support role. The earthy, woody Kentucky is lightly sweet and barely nutty in the background with the Maryland, which is present for filler. The Cyprian Latakia adds a little smoky, woody, earthy, leathery sweetness, and very mildly underscores the experience. The topping is mildly sweet. Won’t bite or get harsh even when puffed fast. The strength is a step short of the center of mild to medium. The taste is just past that center. The nic-hit just passes the mild mark. Well balanced with some complexity, it burns at a reasonable pace, cool, clean, and smooth with a very consistent flavor from start to finish. Requires few relights, leaves little moisture in the bowl, and has a nice after taste. It’s very close to the original, which was slightly sweeter and nuttier. The Latakia is a hair more obvious here.
