My grandfather came from Poland at 12 around 1900 with a pipe in his satchel. My father smoked a pipe since before I was born until the day he died and I have smoked a pipe intermittently since I was 17. I'm 52 now, my grandfather and dad are long gone. But I am a daily pipe smoker and every time I light up, my son and I are reminded of the old man. Someday, the aroma of a lit pipe will remind my boy if me, God willing.
